Responsibilities/Experience:

• Posting is for an anticipated 12:1:1 special class, grade band (3-5)

• Strong background working with Students with Disabilities in a primary self-contained setting

• Ability to create Next Generation Learning Standards aligned lesson plans and implement specially designed instruction for students at the Elementary level

• Exemplary skills in using various technologies

• Outstanding communication skills

• Exemplary skills working with colleagues to plan and problem-solve

• Extensive knowledge of systematic phonics instruction 

• Outstanding ability to create accommodations to meet students' unique needs

• Experience developing comprehensive Individual Education Plans

• Experience designing individual and class-wide behavior interventions

• Ability to implement specially designed instruction

• Knowledge of explicit direct instruction

• Willing to receive Safety Cares certification

• Other duties as assigned

A valid NYS Teaching Certification in Special Education 1-6 and Birth - Grade 2
