We believe that literacy is the cornerstone of all learning, and we are seeking an enthusiastic, creative, and passionate Middle School ELA Teacher to join our dynamic team for the upcoming school year.
Instruction & Curriculum:
Design and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with the NYS Learning Standards in ELA.
Teach a balanced literacy curriculum encompassing novel studies, informational texts, and writing.
Utilize a variety of instructional strategies (e.g., differentiated instruction, small group workshops, project-based learning) to meet diverse student needs.
Student and Classroom Culture:
Establish and maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment with high expectations for student behavior and academic growth.
Employ positive behavior interventions and supports (PBIS) to foster a positive learning environment.
Assessment & Data Analysis:
Administer formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress.
Analyze data to identify learning gaps, drive instructional decisions, and implement targeted interventions.
Team Collaboration & Parent Engagement:
Collaborate with grade-level teams, special education teachers, and ENL teachers to support all learners (including IEP, 504, and ELL students).
Maintain regular, proactive communication with parents and guardians regarding student progress and well-being.
Successful candidates must possess New York State Certification in English Language Arts with Certification in English 7-12, English 5 - 9, English 7-12 & 5-6 Ext
