Job Description

We are seeking a Speech Language Pathologist to provide comprehensive speech and language services to students in PreK–Grade 12 in accordance with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). Duties include conducting evaluations and screenings, developing measurable IEP goals, delivering therapy services, monitoring student progress, and maintaining required documentation. Collaborates with families, educators, administrators, and related service providers to support student communication needs, participates in CSE/CPSE meetings, ensures compliance with special education regulations, and contributes to transition planning and other special education initiatives as assigned.

 

  • Provide speech and language therapy services to students as mandated on their IEPs.

  • Conduct speech-language screenings and evaluations to determine eligibility for services.

  • Develop measurable goals and objectives aligned with students’ IEPs.

  • Maintain accurate documentation of therapy sessions, progress monitoring, and service logs.

  • Participate in Committee on Special Education (CSE), or Committee on Preschool Special Education (CPSE) meetings and provide professional recommendations.

  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, psychologists, and other related service providers to support students’ communication needs.

  • Provide consultation and strategies to classroom staff to support communication development within the instructional setting.

  • Prepare written reports and maintain compliance with district, state, and federal special education regulations.

  • Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding student progress and strategies to support communication skills.

  • Maintain confidentiality of student information in accordance with applicable laws and district policy.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Director of Special Education or building administration. 

Job Qualifications

Valid New York State certification as a Speech and Language Disabilities (Speech-Language Pathologist) teacher
