SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES MUST:
Have an extensive knowledge of NYS CCLS; Knowledge of and ability to implement strategies to address the needs of diverse learners; Experience utilizing formative assessments to inform instructional decision making; Skilled at working with diverse student populations; Knowledge of PBIS and the ability to implement behavioral and positive effective classroom management strategies. Capacity to utilize technology to enhance practice; Interest in actively participating in the school community outside of the classroom.
QUALIFICATIONS/KNOWLEDGE OF:
Strong understanding of developmentally appropriate practices and domains of learning at the elementary level
Create and deliver lessons grounded in researched best practice and current formative data
Responsible for planning daily educational programs and record-keeping
Facilitating developmentally appropriate activities
Observe and evaluate students' performance
Integrate competencies, goals, and objectives into lesson plans, posting learning goals for each lesson as appropriate
Manage and support student behavior in the classroom with appropriate responsive and restorative techniques
Participate in regular, ongoing professional training; stay abreast of current topics in education
Participate in grade level meetings to analyze performance data and make instructional revisions
Utilize curriculum that reflects the diversity of educational, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds of the students served
Create a positive educational climate for students to participate in, promoting success for students of all abilities
