In this role, the teacher will introduce students to a diverse world of musical concepts, history, and performance.

Anticipated Assignment - Cleveland Hill Middle School

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Instruction & Curriculum:

• Design and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with the NYS Learning Standards in Music.

• Teach a balanced music curriculum encompassing artistic ideas and works with societal, cultural and historical context to deepen understanding

• Utilize a variety of instructional strategies to meet diverse student needs
   

  Student and Classroom Culture:

• Establish and maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment with high expectations for student behavior and academic growth.

• Employ positive behavior interventions and supports (PBIS) to foster a positive learning environment.

• Team Collaboration & Parent Engagement:

• Collaborate with grade-level teams, special education teachers, and ENL teachers to support all learners (including IEP, 504, and ELL students).

• Maintain regular, proactive communication with parents and guardians regarding student progress and well-being.

 

 

Job Qualifications

Successful candidates must possess New York State Certification in Music

Preference given to Woodwind Specialists
