JOB PURPOSE: To assist the principal, faculty, staff, and students in creating a positive school culture that improves student learning and achievement. 

JOB DUTIES:

  • Work to sustain a positive school climate and culture that allows students to flourish
  • Assist the building principal with teacher support and development through professional development opportunities and the observation/evaluation process
  • Assist with all organizational and planning duties related to the smooth operation
    of the school
  • Assist with District and Building Safety
  • Arrival and Dismissal Supervision
  • Implement the Code of Conduct (Updating and Designing Instruction)
  • Effectively communicate information to staff, students, families, and the community
  • Makes decisions in a timely fashion, maximizes decision effectiveness by follow-up actions and documents those efforts
  • Assist in overseeing the planning and implementation of Summer School programming
  • Be a contributing member and facilitate, where and when necessary, the MTSS  Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 Teams. 
  • Assume a leadership role for the transition of 9th-grade students into the high school 
  • Participate in teacher professional development sessions
  • Considers research findings and approaches, alternatives, and consequences in the decision-making process
  • Places an emphasis on student achievement and social-emotional well-being as the primary outcomes of school
  • Develops systems to routinely assess and monitor student progress
  • Work with the student support team to assist in behavior modification/management for students 
  • Be an active member of the school community
  • Participate in District-wide planning initiatives
  • Other duties as assigned
