Long Term Substitute Middle School Social Studies

We are seeking an engaging, collaborative Long-Term Substitute Middle School Social Studies Teacher to lead our 8th grade social studies classes. The ideal candidate will create an inclusive classroom environment that encourages critical thinking, historical inquiry, and active citizenship.

  • Deliver standards-based social studies curriculum 

  • Facilitate engaging, student-centered lessons that incorporate primary sources, project-based learning, and class discussions.

  • Manage classroom behavior and foster a supportive, respectful environment for middle school learners.

  • Assess student progress through assignments, projects, and tests, providing timely feedback.

  • Maintain regular communication with school administration, parents, and grade-level teams regarding student growth and well-being.

  • Follow established lesson plans when available and adapt materials as needed during the extended leave period.

Long Term Substitute Middle School ELA

We are looking for a passionate and structured Long-Term Substitute Middle School ELA Teacher to guide our 8th grade students in reading, writing, and communication skills. This educator will step in to maintain academic momentum and build strong literacy skills in an encouraging middle school setting.

  • Plan and deliver instruction in reading comprehension, analytical writing, grammar, vocabulary, and literary analysis.

  • Guide students through individual and group reading of novels, short stories, poetry, and informational texts.

  • Facilitate the writing process (drafting, peer review, revising) across expository, persuasive, and narrative genres.

  • Create a welcoming classroom climate that values diverse perspectives and active student participation.

  • Evaluate student work, maintain accurate grade records, and communicate effectively with families and staff.

  • Implement accommodations and modifications for students with IEPs or 504 plans in collaboration with special education staff.
