Senior Clerk Typist Schools (NY HELPS) - 12 Month (Anticipated)

The NY HELPS (Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement Program Statewide) is a New York State program that allows civil service agencies to hire qualified permanent employees quickly and without requiring them to take a competitive civil service exam. It was created to help agencies fill critical vacancies by streamlining the appointment process, though candidates must still meet all other minimum qualifications for the job. 

 

PERFORMANCE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS ATTRIBUTES AND CHARACTERISTICS:
Good knowledge of office terminology, procedures and equipment; good knowledge of business arithmetic and English; good knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint or other necessary computer software; ability to 
  understand and carry out complex oral and written instructions; ability to type from clear copy or rough draft at an average rate of speed; clerical aptitude; sound judgment; neatness; tact and courtesy; capable of performing the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.

 

Salary/Pay Scale

Starting at $19.16-$20.00/hr PLUS Generous Benefits Package
