Anticipated Long Term Substitute - Secondary Math

LTS High School Mathematics teacher vacancy beginning August 27, 2025. 

Candidates MUST hold a valid NYS Secondary Mathematics Certification

Candidates must have a thorough understanding of the NYS Mathematics Learning Standards and the ability to develop and implement research-based instructional learning opportunities for students.

Candidates must have experience teaching Mathematics at the Secondary level.

Candidates must possess strong relationship building and classroom management skills. 

Candidates must demonstrate a willingness to support students in the pursuit of academic success. 

Candidates with experience in PBIS practices are preferred. 

Candidates with a firm understanding of how to implement classroom instructional technology in the classroom to improve instruction are preferred. 

Candidates must provide an updated resume with at least 3 letters of recommendation.

Probationary High School Science Teacher

Responsibilities/Experience:

This position will require the teacher to teach Biology Regents classes.

This position will require the teacher to support some Science classes with a co-taught collaborative model.

This position may require the teacher to teach elective classes. 

 

Preference given to candidates who:

1)  Demonstrate effective instructional practices to prepare students for Regents Exams

2) Have experience developing and implementing lessons based on the elements of Explicit Direct Instruction

3)  Possess strong organizational and communicative skills

4)  Are knowledgeable in the use of data-driven instruction practices

5)  Are willing to be an active member of a school community beyond the school day

8)  Possess knowledge of PBIS programming

9)  Demonstrate strong student management skills

10) Extensive knowledge of the NYS NGSS

11) Knowledge of and ability to implement strategies designed to address the needs of diverse learners

12) Capacity to utilize technology to enhance practice

        -Program Administration, Management, and Evaluation

  • Develop and file individual student training plans and documents
  • Know and ensure compliance with relevant state and federal labor laws
  • Ensure student-learner safety and health protection
  • Prepare and analyze year-end reports
  • Track student progress through student-information system
